At EZCartCare, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding that information. By using EZCartCare, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you register for EZCartCare, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed version of your password. You may optionally provide a phone number and mailing address in your profile settings.
Golf Cart and Maintenance Data
We collect details about your golf carts (make, model, year, hours) and maintenance schedules that you enter into the application.
Phone Number
A phone number is optional and is collected only when you choose to add one in your Profile settings. It is used exclusively for SMS maintenance reminder notifications — only when you have:
- Added a mobile phone number to your profile,
- Verified that number via the SMS verification process, and
- Explicitly enabled SMS notifications in your Notification Preferences.
We do not use your phone number for marketing messages, and we never share it with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Payment Information
EZCartCare does not collect or store credit card or bank account information. All payment processing is handled securely by Stripe in accordance with their privacy policy and PCI-DSS compliance standards.
Usage Data
We may collect standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) to maintain the security and performance of our service.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To deliver the services you have requested (maintenance scheduling, reminders, reports).
- To send email notifications about upcoming or overdue maintenance items, when you have enabled them.
- To send SMS text message notifications, subject to the opt-in requirements described below.
- To process subscription payments through Stripe.
- To communicate important account or service updates.
- To improve and develop our service.
We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
3. SMS Messaging
How to Opt In
To receive SMS maintenance reminders, you must complete all three of the following steps within the EZCartCare application:
- Step 1 – Add your mobile number: Enter a valid U.S. mobile phone number in your Profile settings.
- Step 2 – Verify your number: Request a one-time 6-digit verification code, which will be sent to that number via text message. Enter the code in the verification prompt to confirm ownership.
- Step 3 – Enable SMS reminders: Go to Notification Preferences and check the "Enable SMS maintenance reminders" checkbox. You may also select how far in advance (1 day, 3 days, 1 week, or 2 weeks) you wish to be reminded.
SMS notifications are available on subscription plans that include SMS. If your current plan does not include SMS, the option will not appear as an active choice in Notification Preferences.
What Messages You Will Receive
If you opt in, you will receive transactional text messages only. These messages notify you when a scheduled maintenance item on one of your golf carts is approaching its due date. Message frequency depends on how many maintenance items you track and the lead time you select; typically no more than one summary message per day. Example message:

We do not send promotional, marketing, or third-party messages to your phone number.
Message and data rates may apply. Contact your wireless carrier for details about your plan.
How to Opt Out
You may stop receiving SMS messages at any time using any of the following methods:
- Reply STOP to any SMS message you receive from EZCartCare. Your number will be unsubscribed immediately.
- In-app setting: Visit Notification Preferences and uncheck "Enable SMS maintenance reminders." Changes take effect immediately.
- Remove your phone number: Delete your phone number from your Profile settings. This will also disable SMS notifications.
After opting out, you will receive no further SMS messages unless you explicitly opt back in by following the steps above.
Third-Party SMS Provider
SMS messages are delivered through Twilio, Inc., our third-party messaging service provider. Twilio processes your phone number and message content solely for the purpose of delivering messages on our behalf. Twilio is subject to its own privacy policy, available at twilio.com/legal/privacy. We do not authorize Twilio to use your phone number for any purpose other than delivering messages we request.
4. Email Notifications
Email maintenance reminders are available on plans that include email notifications and are enabled by default when you create an account on an eligible plan. You may enable or disable email notifications, daily digests, and weekly summaries at any time from your Notification Preferences page.
5. Cookies and Tracking
EZCartCare uses session cookies to maintain your login state. We may use analytics tools to understand how visitors use our site in aggregate. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes.
6. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We share your information only with the following categories of service providers, strictly to operate EZCartCare:
- Stripe – payment processing.
- Mailgun – email notification delivery.
- Twilio – SMS notification delivery (only when you have opted in).
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to any other outside parties.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
8. Data Security
We employ industry-standard security measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed password storage, and access controls. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
EZCartCare is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new "Last Updated" date. Continued use of EZCartCare after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
